Our objects are:-
The relief of poverty , sickness and distress of famine victims in Mponda Village and its surrounding area by the provision of supplies , aid and such other equipment as the Trustees may from time to time determine with the aim of assisting the village to become self-sufficient‘. Brian Morris,a Professor of Anthropology specialising in Malawi has agreed to be a founding Trustee. He stayed at Makwawa in his student days, worked on a tea plantation and has subsequently been back to Mponda village where the villagers assisted him in writing a book on Malawian mushrooms, |
The Charity is entitled to receive Gift Aid donations and can recover basic rate tax on your donations. Taxpayers in higher rate tax brackets can claim an additional 20%- 25% tax relief from the taxman.
It also means that the Charity can claim back 25% of whatever you DONATE from HMRC ( 25p for every £1 donated) |

That Malawi means reflected light or bright haze and was the name of an old kingdom The Great Rift Valley, in which Lake Malawi is situated, stretches from the Dead Sea down through eastern Africa, as far as the Zambezi River. Lake Malawi is almost 570km long and as much as 80km at its widest point. It is the third largest lake in Africa and eleventh in the world |
