Here are students at DMSS: Mary in form 2, Loveness in form 3, Newton in form 2 and Manfred in form 4.
We currently fund education for 6 children as they go through secondary school. Primary school is free but secondary school costs £200 per term (3 month period).
Children of Malonga Village 2017
In Malawi, primary school education is free but secondary education has to be paid for. Some students are selected each year for the government secondary schools. Others can go to a wide selection of secondary schools. Near to Makwawa and next door to the Domasi Primary School is the Domasi Mission Secondary School (DMSS).
We have funded several students through secondary education. They were selected from the Primary School as being gifted but from poor families that would not be able to pay for secondary school fees. Their fees are the biggest expenditure at present for the charity. We pay not only the fees but also for boarding costs, uniforms and other essential items like toiletries and stationery.
By funding their education these young people have a better chance at finding a well paid job and hopefully a better future for themselves and their families.
